EXPORT LAGER | 5.0%

The History: Built to Travel

Before modern refrigeration, standard lagers struggled with long journeys. Back in 19th-century Germany, industrial brewing hubs like Dortmund needed a beer sturdy enough to send across the country without losing its edge. The solution was the Export Lager.

Brewers bumped the ABV up to around 5% and used a heavier malt bill to give the beer real body and shelf life. The result was a style that sat right between a soft, malt-heavy Munich Helles and a dry, bitter Pilsner. It had enough weight to carry the flavour on the road, but stayed crisp enough to drink by the pint.

Our Take: Rich, Smooth & Crisp

Our 5.0% Export Lager pays homage to that classic German balance. Everything starts with a solid malt foundation, delivering a smooth, bready sweetness right from the first sip.

To keep all that rich body in check, we hopped this batch with traditional Hallertau hops. They cut cleanly through the malt sweetness with a refined herbal note, leaving a sharp, thirst-quenching finish. It is rich, satisfying, and effortlessly drinkable.
