To celebrate International Women's Day last month, 'Mother Tongue Brewing', 'Women In Beer' and 'Glasladies Beer Society' joined Moonwake and their brewery in Leith for the International Women's Collaboration Brew Day. Besides brewing a beer together, we also had panels with women in the industry. This created opportunities to network and support women on their journey, whether it's their passion, career, or if they're just looking for a new hobby!
🍺 About the beer:
This lagered Cold IPA showcases new-to-market Dolcita™ hops alongside NovaLager™ yeast, with rice adding crispness, body and an ultra-clean finish.
All malt was kindly donated by Simpsons Malt, with yeast supplied by Lallemand and hops by Yakima Chief in support of IWCBD.
We launched the beer across 20+ venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow, where beer drinkers could join us at Victoria Bar in Leith, Edinburgh and Inn Deep Bar in Glasgow.
What is International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day?
IWCBD is a worldwide annual event that takes place in conjunction with International Women’s Day. It's meant for groups and breweries to come together with their communities and local groups to celebrate women in the beer industry, and to create and release collaboration beers, raising funds for women’s causes.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to the WiB Mentorship Programme that provides practical assistance to career development of women in the industry, and also to Women on Wheels, a Glasgow-based charity supporting women through cycling, skills development and community connection.
