Juicy NEIPA Brew with Wild Card

We brewed a collaboration beer with Walthamstow’s Wild Card Brewery. Our Head Brewer, Vinny and Marketing Manager Sarah have both known Wild Card’s Head Brewer, Jaega for a number of years now so it was just natural for us to get together and brew an awesome beer!

Wild Card is an 11-year-old, small microbrewery in East London, they specialise in hoppy, juicy pale ales, New England IPAs, and Lagers, they even have a barrel-ageing beer project.

Together we brewed a NEIPA dripping with apricot and passion fruit juice. Citra and Talus hops were added in the dry-hop for sticky orange notes on the nose, this beer finishes super smooth with a slightly rounded sweetness.

It was fantastic fun to brew with Jaega at Wild Card. We know we gel well as people. We were able to come in and come up with ideas on the fly together – it was a fabulous in-the-moment collaborative process.

Sarah added her favourite hop Citra and Jaega suggested Talus which is a hop we haven’t used in any of our beers at Moonwake before so it was good to give it a whirl.

We were excited Jaega wanted to welcome us into her brewery and celebrate Moonwake and how well we’ve done in our first two years. That was sweet and humbling.

Five years after her first time at Wild Card our marketing manager Sarah made her way back to her old London stomping ground to brew with Jaega again.

Sarah first brewed there as part of the International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day event that Jaega organises annually at Wild Card. Each year they welcome a diverse group of women to learn about and experience craft beer.
