WATCH AS WE TASTE XPA - FULL OF FLAVOUR & LOWER IN ALCOHOL

3.4% | VEGAN | HAZY SESSION PALE

Moonwake XPA is a refreshing, sessionable beer that does not compromise on flavour. Small and punchy, this Extra Pale Ale is brewed with Rakau and El Dorado hops for pleasant orange-pith and passionfruit flavours. Extra pale malt, oats and wheat in the grist provide a pillowy mouthfeel.

WHAT IS AN XPA?

The "X" in XPA stands for "Extra", that classic word that starts with "X". It's made with Extra Pale Malt which means it still has plenty of body while being lower in alcohol.

Vinny Rosario - Head Brewer

Each beer at Moonwake is treated individually and Precision Brewed. For XPA we chose an East Coast water profile, the same used in your classic New England IPAs, which helps those fruity hop characters to come out as stone and citrus fruit flavours that you recognise.

In December 2023, XPA won Gold for Best Session Pale in The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) regional awards for bottle and can.

We were thrilled to win this award as we believe XPA was becoming an unsung hero in our core range, available all year round, and we're so excited to share this accolade with you.

Best Scottish Session Pale - Gold Award

In this beer, you get lots of orange, orange-pith flavours and hints of apricot. What we are really proud of our production team for this beer is that they have managed to get lots of flavour and body into a beer that is only 3.4% alcohol by volume.

You get a really nice, smooth juiciness coming through with the help of the oats and the wheat in the grist, plus that East Coast water profile, you have such a nice body in the mouthfeel. It's definitely not wishy washy.

We were incredibly proud that Moonwake XPA was one of three finalists for New Beer of the Year at Brewers Choice Awards 2022.

Can you believe the brewery was only 18 months old at this time!?!
